CMP started its iron casting business in 1972, has developed over many years into one of the biggest professional iron casting companies, and is of a significant scale in Greater China. It persistently pursues diversified operations, focusing on humanity, beauty and wellbeing. CMP has expanded its business into real estate development, comprising housing, hotels and shopping malls, and has been growing step by step at a steady pace. In recent years, it has further worked on corporate social responsibility and made contributions to society.
2014 侏儸紀進行曲 Jurassic March
侏儸紀進行曲 Jurassic’s March 這個作品緣起於台中國立自然科學博物館與勤美集團的共同合作。 我們思考了兩個單位的形象特質，企圖創作出一個既有趣又符合彼此形象的作品。 科博館前的草悟道上，大大小小的恐龍圖騰，已經變成了台中市民的共同記憶； 勤美集團最重要的核心是翻砂鑄造。我們希望延續這個記憶，並結合勤美集團的鑄造強項，共同創造一個有趣動人的公共家具作品，未來我們更期待這個作品能融入台中市民的生活記憶裡，甚至更進一步成為草悟道上的重點地標。
Jurassic’s March results from joint cooperation between the National Natural Science Museum and CMP. We considered the image and characteristics of both organizations and aimed to create a work not just interesting but also suitable to the organizations’ images. On the Calligraphy Greenway in front of the National Museum of Natural Science, dinosaurs of all sizes have already become part of the collective memory of Taichung citizens. Iron casting is an important core business of CMP. We hope to continue this memory and, by combining the iron casting strength of CMP, to create an interesting and touching art piece of public furniture. In the future, we look forward to this work merging into the life memories of Taichung citizens and further becoming a key landmark.

「爸爸的肩膀」 親愛的女兒: 這是爸爸為妳創作的作品，爸爸知道妳喜歡坐在爸爸肩膀上，一起漫步在這段草悟道上，細數著地板上妳最喜歡的恐龍地磚。 所以爸爸在這個作品上面施了魔法，當妳想爸爸時，妳可以到這裡來，坐在這個作品上面,閉上眼睛數1…2…3， 那些恐龍就變會成了爸爸的肩膀，牠們會載著妳繼續的往前走…
After being a designer for many years, I often ponder the question: In addition to business, medal winning, creation and undeserved fame, what does this profession mean to me in particular? Who is the most important customer in the world? “Father’s shoulders” Dear daughter, this is the artwork that your father created for you. Your father knows that you like to sit on his shoulders walking on Calligraphy Greenway and count your favorite dinosaur floor tiles carefully. So, your father has cast magic on this work. When you miss your father, you can come here and sit on these works. Close your eyes and count to three, these dinosaurs will become father’s shoulders and carry you on.
